Meet Our Therapist

MA, NCC, LPC

I have been trained in evidence-based practices including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as other models like narrative therapy and family systems. I strive to be well-rounded and versatile in my approach to meet you where you are with what you need.

As a father to a child with disability, my lived experience has informed my practice. I am all too familiar with the emotional struggles, stress, and unsettledness that comes with a life of caregiving for a child with special needs and complex medical challenges. Caregiver burnout is real. I am also a member of the recovery community; enjoying a life of sobriety. I am so blessed to have found freedom and serenity from the grip of addiction that went hand-in-hand with my grief and loss as a caregiver. This was not of my own doing, but rather with the assistance and deep care of a handful of non-judgmental and warm souls. I have found a path forward, and I can’t wait to help you find your path towards wholeness through your story.

I commit to meeting you with warmth, empathy, and understanding. I desire to help you find wholeness, healing, and meaning through the sharing of your story. Let me come alongside you as you take the courageous step towards learning about who you are at your core. I think someday you will come to appreciate what you find.

Ahoy there! My name is Matt Hoffman. I serve at Resolute Counseling in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where I reside with my wife and four children! I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy spending time with my family.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) here in the great state of Wisconsin. I received my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College Graduate School in May, 2020. I have clinical experience working in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient clinics, as well as in dual-diagnosis outpatient clinics for mental health and substance abuse disorders. I have been privileged to be able to work with individuals, families, and groups seeking support and healing from addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, and caregiver stress throughout my career.
